The Lovell High School junior varsity football team took on the tall task of traveling to Cody to meet the always talented Broncs Monday afternoon, falling 30-19.

“It was a bit of a slow start, but we pulled it together,” coach Bob Weber said. “We traded punches for the first half and went into halftime with a score of 14-13 for Cody. We played tight in the third quarter, then had some letdowns that led to two quick scores for Cody in the beginning of the fourth. We were able to respond with one more touchdown. We had two or three other chances to score but couldn’t convert.

“We had several good performances. Standout performances came from Kyson Crosby at the quarterback position, who threw the ball very well. Nathan Cornia was on the other end of many of Crosby’s passes, and he racked up quite a few catches and yards after. Anthony Garcia also rushed for two touchdowns.”

The JVs are next scheduled to play on October 7, hosting Powell at 5 p.m.
