Lovell Library’s book fair to begin
Books! Books! Books! The Lovell Library has them and the Friends of the Lovell Library Board wants readers to have them. Dates for the library book fair are Nov. 14 – 23 during regular library hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“It is a perfect time to come and browse,” said Friends of the Library member Mary Jensen. “Just for fun I’ll add my two bits. During the last book fair, I found a fascinating book about the brothers who began the Mayo Clinic. I read it with much interest and then shared it with others. We invite you to come looking for your treasures.”The selection includes children’s books, teen books, biography, non-fiction, romance novels, history and more.“Whatever you are looking for we think we have them,” said Jensen. “This dedicated board donates time and energy to the library and it takes a bit of muscle to get that job done.”Friends of the Lovell Library Board members include Sharie Loegering, chairman; Arlene Ross, treasurer; and Janice Allen, secretary. Other members include: longtime volunteer member Marilyn Revelle, Mary Lou Perkins, Mary Jensen and Loretta Mayes Spitzenberger. The seven-member board includes four members of the Lovell Woman’s Club. The remaining three positions are filled by community members or other members of the Lovell Woman’s Club.“It was through the efforts of the Lovell Woman’s Club that the Lovell Library had its beginning,” explained Jensen. “The club has consistently donated money to the library year after year. Our hope is that other organizations will also respond to our needs…Your donations are much appreciated.”The many programs provided at the library are funded by the Friends of the Lovell Library, including several summer programs, holiday programs, contests and other activities. The programs funded by the group have in the past made the library a go-to place for children and families.
