The Lovell Middle School volleyball teams played their first games of the season Thursday at home against the Thermopolis Bobcats. The seventh grade A team left the Bobcats with little room to score, winning all three sets 25-4, 25-8 and 15-10.

“Lainey Felkins was clutch with some great serves,” head seventh grade coach Marci Durtsche said.

Similarly, the seventh grade B team won all three of their sets against their opponents, 27-5, 25-23 and 15-10.

“I was really pleased to see that our B team was trying to get three hits already, and it’s only our first game of the season,” Durtsche noted.

The eighth grade A team swept the Bobcats off the court by winning all three sets of their game, 25-12, 25-15, 15-4. The eighth grade B team pulled through with a victory against the Bobcats by winning two out of three sets, 25-6, 21-24, 15-10.

Next Tuesday, Sept. 10, the seventh-grade teams will travel to Worland to play the Warriors at 4:15 and 5:15 p.m., while the eighth-grade teams welcome the Worland Warriors on their home court at 4:15 and 5:15 p.m.
