Lovell native Dr. Hyrum Hopkin graduates from medical school

Dr. Hyrum Hopkin, 30, has graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine through the WWAMI program.

Hopkin is the son of Kirk and Angela Hopkin and a 2014 graduate of Lovell High School. Following high school, he served a two-year mission for his church in Jacksonville, Florida. He then earned his undergraduate degree in biomedical science from Brigham Young University-Idaho.

Hopkin’s demanding medical journey was a shared family effort. He celebrates this milestone with his wife Summer of nearly 10 years and their two children, ages 5 and 2. The achievement also brings a proud connection to the local community, where his wife’s grandmother, Beverly Morrison, also resides.

In July, Dr. Hopkin will begin his specialized residency training in anesthesiology in Lexington, Kentucky. After completing his residency, his ultimate goal is to return home to practice medicine and serve the communities of Wyoming.
