Lovell native Phil Wasden honored as master chaplain

Lehi Police/Fire Chaplain Phil Wasden recently attended the 52nd Annual Training Seminar of the International Conference of Police Chaplains (ICPC) held in Little Rock, Arkansas.

As part of the training seminar, Wasden received specialized training related to responding to crisis, concerns of police survivors, confidentiality and legal liability, organizational toxicity, death notification and federal liaison programs, as well as additional training specific to the challenges of serving as a volunteer public safety chaplain. He also received certification as an instructor in U.S. Constitutional Law for Law Enforcement through Hillsdale College.

Wasden has served for more than 10 years to both the police and fire departments of Lehi, Utah, as a public safety chaplain. Recently he was honored for becoming a Master Chaplain and Ethics Committee member of the International Conference of Police Chaplains (ICPC).

Fire Chief Jeremy Craft and Police Chief Darren Paul presented awards to Master Chaplain Wasden before the Lehi City Council stating, “We are grateful for his willingness to serve as a volunteer chaplain and for his dedication and commitment to training which will allow him to provide a much needed service to the public safety officers of Lehi and to the citizens of Lehi, as well.”
