Lovell senior center honors volunteer contributions
The North Big Horn Senior Center held a special luncheon on Wednesday, April 23, for Volunteer Appreciation Day.
“Today we gather to celebrate the remarkable contributions of our volunteers,” director Kim Gifford said. “Volunteers are the backbone of our organization, the embodiment of selflessness and dedication. Their commitment to serving others, without expecting anything in return, is remarkable.”
There are more than 60 individuals that donate their time and abilities to the center in different capacities to provide their services.
“Every hour volunteered, every task undertaken and every life touched reflects the kindness and generosity of each of our volunteers,” Gifford continued. “Whether it is lending a helping hand, delivering meals, serving on a board, making quilts, putting together our monthly newsletters, planting flowers, leading exercises, helping with crafts or checking on someone, they are making an impact on our community.”
The staff of the senior center credits the volunteers as “unsung heroes” who work tirelessly behind the scenes without seeking recognition but always have the intention of making a difference.
Gifford thanked the volunteers and said, “We appreciate their dedication, compassion and commitment to making the world a better place. Their generosity knows no bounds, and their impact on our community is immeasurable, but does not go unnoticed.”
This year, the senior center will be recognizing their volunteers further as the Senior Center VIPs and encourages all of the helpers to participate by riding in the local town celebrations on a float in Lovell, Cowley and Byron.
“Volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization, and we are eternally grateful for everything they do,” Gifford concluded.
SPECIAL THANKS
The senior center gave special recognition and thanks to the Bank of Lovell for providing the lunches for the volunteers on Wednesday and the employees of First Bank of Wyoming, who have taken turns delivering meals every Wednesday since 2021.
Music was also appreciated at Wednesday’s celebration provided by Leah Bruscino, Mark Bruscino, Steve Martin and Gary Mills.
