Mac Ray Hansen, 71, a beloved husband, father, brother and dear friend, passed away on September 1, 2024.
Born on December 26, 1952, in Lovell, Mac led a life marked by his passion for his work and his love for his family.
Being raised in Lovell, he spent many years working on his family’s ranch, instilling his great love for the outdoors.
Mac was a respected drilling foreman for Marathon Oil, a role that took him all around the world. His expertise and commitment to his field left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the industry.
An ardent fan of his and his daughter’s alma mater, the Wyoming Cowboys, Mac’s enthusiasm for his state was a cherished part of his identity. His spirit and dedication extended beyond his professional life into his personal passions.
Mac was preceded in death by his parents, Hans Floyd Hansen and Reva Foote Hansen, as well as his brother, Hans Hansen.
Mac is survived by his devoted wife, Neta Marie Hansen; children Jasen Hansen, Shaun (Holly) Hansen, Marie Hansen and Nicole Hansen (Seth) Oetken; grandchildren Kaiden Hansen and Mila Hansen; sister Janet Hansen (Leon) Mickelson; sister-in-law Joan Fuller Hansen; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is remembered with great love and respect by his family and friends.
A memorial service was held September 9 at 2 p.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The family invites all who knew and loved Mac to join them in celebrating his life and the legacy he leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Josh Allen’s Charity: The Patricia Allen Fund in Mac’s honor.
He will forever be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
