Marilyn Ann Revelle
Jan. 13, 1937 – Feb. 18, 2025
On January 13, 1937, Rowland Francis and Annie Kowlok Jones of Gebo, Wyoming, welcomed a baby girl, Marilyn Ann, into the world. Marilyn died February 18, 2025, in Lovell.
Marilyn’s early years were spent playing with cousins in Gebo and Crosby, preferably at their grandparents’ house. After a mining accident, her father became a barber and the family moved to Thermopolis.
Marilyn was an active Girl Scout. One of her best memories was attending an archeological dig in New Mexico as a Senior Scout. She played clarinet and enjoyed marching band in high school.
Upon graduation she attended Casper College and the University of Wyoming. She graduated with a B.A. in education. She moved to Cowley, beginning her career as an elementary school teacher. After a few years, she moved to Lovell Elementary, where she taught first grade until she retired in 1992. She loved teaching. Her students meant a great deal to her.
In 1958 she caught the eye of a handsome, fun-loving high school coach and teacher. She married Cliff Revelle in February of 1959. On February 18, 1962, their daughter Lisa Ann was born.
Marilyn was actively involved in her community. She taught Sunday School and was in the Altar Society at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She was a member of several civic organizations, including the Lovell Woman’s Club. In 2005, she was named the Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year.
Marilyn adored her two grandsons, Dylan and Derek. She and Cliff loved traveling to see them, often in exotic locales, as their dad was in the U.S. Navy.
She was a passionate card player, especially bridge. Marilyn loved entertaining and socializing with friends. She and her good friend Dorothy were always up to some sort of shenanigans.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and sister Kathyrn.
She is survived by daughter Lisa, son-in-law Kevin, their children Dylan and Derek, and Dylan’s fiancé Sepeedeh Panah.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, Feb. 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lovell.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Tender Hearts Fund at Lovell Elementary School would be appreciated.
