Mary Joanne Peters

Mary Joanne Peters, 66, our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to all whose lives she touched, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Oct. 30, 2021, in Greybull, Wyo.

 Mary Jo was born on Jan. 15, 1955, to Eugene and Barbara Murphy in Marshfield, Mo. 

After spending most of her youth in Wyoming, she eventually found herself in Laredo, Texas, then Vincennes, Ind., where she enjoyed a successful career in the food service industry until her retirement and return to her beloved Wyoming to be close to her children and grandchildren.

 Mary Jo's passion was family and friends and her beloved dog Penny.  She shared her joy of cooking with others by the numerous times she would drop off homemade goodies to friends and loved ones in need.  She was loving and caring, always showing kindness toward others with her calls, cards and gifts.  She has left a permanent mark etched in our hearts.  When you think of Mary Jo, celebrate the good memories.  Remember that life is fragile and should be lived to the fullest as Mary Jo did.

 Mary Jo is preceded in death by, her father Eugene Murphy, mother Barbara, sister Patricia, and daughter Sheila Peters.

 Left to cherish her memory are her son Robert (Sarah) Peters; grandchildren Maggie, Anna, Marissa, Troy Peters, and Robert Vergara; siblings James (Julia) Murphy, Debra (Polo) Luera, Mark (Heidi) Murphy, Dee Dee (Tommy) Martin and John Murphy.  Also many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends and long-time companion Dewey Arquette.

 Per the wishes of Mary Jo and her family, her ashes will be spread alongside those of her daughter Sheila in the Beartooth Mountains at a later date.

 Those that wish to honor her memory can do so by donating to the charity of their choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atwood Family Funeral Directors.
