Mustang Days rodeo features plenty of action

The country spirit was alive and bucking this weekend as the annual Lovell Mustang Days Rodeo was held once again on Saturday, bringing with it local pride and tradition. With the stands and events packed, fans were excited for the bronc riding, barrel racing and all the other fun the rodeo brings.

The rodeo has always been a staple for Mustang Days and with that, here are the results of this year’s rodeo:

Bareback riding had four riders and four finishers. First place was Sebastain Hotalen from Belgrade, Montana, with a score of 79. Second was William Barnett from Absarokee, Montana, with a score of 78. Third was Luke Wozney from Powell with a score of 73. Fourth was Carlos Rosa all the way from Brazil with a score of 72.

Saddle bronc riding had seven riders and no finishers.

Bull riding had 10 riders and one finisher. First place was Bre’zhon Spang from Busby, Montana, with a score of 77.

Calf roping had nine ropers and five finishers. First place was EJ Panetta from Sheridan with a time of 14.38. Second was Logan Seifert from Riverton with a time of 21.40. Third was Pablo Good from Greybull at 24.69. Fourth was JT Collingwood from Greybull in a time of 26.12, and fifth was Kanton Apanashk from Powell in 29.84.

Ladies’ breakaway roping had 16 ropers and five finishers. First place was Lacee Good from Greybull with a time 4 seconds. Second was Cherain Richmond from Cody with a time of 7.40. Third was Alexis Delzer from Northfield, Minnesota, at 10.15. Fourth was Vickie MacCarty from Pryor, Montana, in a time of 12.69, and fifth was Mesa Allen from Thermopolis in 13.47.

Ladies’ barrels had 24 riders and 23 received times. First place was Tammy Pollan from Shell with a time of 18.599. Second was Brandy Herman from Custer, Montana, with a time of 18.753. Third was Virginia Lohr from Powell with a time of 18.846, and fourth was Abigial Eaton from Powell in 18.866.

Youth barrels had 23 riders and 22 received times. First place was Taylor Sweet from Powell with a time of 18.945. Second was Gwenny Gauger from Pryor, Montana, in a time of 19.266. Third was Addy Swank from Cowley at 19.483, and fourth was Cassidy Hahn from Lovell in 20.103. 

Youth breakaway roping had 15 ropers and seven finishers. First place was Joe Panetta from Sheridan with a time of 3.44. Second was Ty Holzum from Fromberg, Montana, with a time of 4.44. Third was Tell Edeler from Greybull at 4.50, and fourth was James Hahn from Lovell in 5.94.

Steer riding had eight riders and three finishers. First place was Wyatt Blank from Byron with a score of 73, second was Cassidy Hahn from Lovell with a score of 69 and third was James Hahn from Lovell with a score of 66. 

Team roping had 19 teams and seven finishers. First place was Bob Herman and Jordan Herman with a time of 8.16. Second was Austin Bennet and Canyon Egger with a time of 9.91. Third was a tie between the team of Addison Griemsman and Bridger Peil and the duo of Tanner Griemsman and Travis Griemsman with a time of 11.13. Fourth was also a tie between team Travis Griemsman and Tanner Griemsman and team Dekota Edwards and Bridger Peil with a time of 14.56.

Mixed team roping had 27 teams and 12 finishers. First place was the duo of Scott Collingwood and JT Collingwood with a time of 8.75, and placing second was Jordan Herman and Brandy Herman with a time of 10.44. Third was Tate Edeler and Tell Edeler with a time of 12.04, and in fourth was the duo of Scott Collingwood and Casey Good in a time of 12.66. 

Youth bulls had seven riders and one finisher. Winning the event was Kooper Apanashk from Powell with a score of 77. 

Ranch bronc riding featured four riders and three finishers. First place was Wyatt Duncan from Casper with a score of 81, second was Owen Sack from Saint Paul, Nebraska, with a score of 74 and third was Bee Underwood from Douglas with a score of 66. 

PeeWee barrels had four riders and four times. Placing first was Raegan Haag-Saucido from Powell with a time of 50.920. Second was Hattie Purcell from Lovell with a time of 52.390. Third was Gus Ganoung from Deaver in 87.032, and fourth was Quinn McKim from Manderson with a time of 135.770.
