North Big Horn Rams wrestle in Thermop
The North Big Horn Rams wrestling club traveled to Thermopolis on Saturday to compete at Wrestleopolis in both folkstyle and freestyle.
In folkstyle, the Rams faced some tough competition overall and finished in 10th place as a team.
The lone champion was Cayden Dickerson in the 10U 49-53 division where he went 4-0 in the bracket.
Other wrestlers in the folkstlye division were:
Second place: Raegan Dickerson, 8U Girls 40-46; Havana Martinez, 8U Girls 74-85; Anthony Mcillwaine, 8U 85+; Hadley Henton, 10U Girls 90; Alex Mcillwaine, 12U 160+; Braxton Layne, 12U 108; Vada Schmidt, 14U Girls 121-127; Isabella Martinez, 14U Girls 143-151.
Third place: Bradley Abraham, 8U 40-43; Hawk Hecker, 10U 49-53; Carson Marberry, 10U 71A; Kaylynn Mickelson, 14U Girls 115.
Fourth place: Cotey Smith, 8U 49A.
Fifth place: Hayden Harshman, 12U 86.
Other competitors: Brecklyn Whiting, Maddox Baxendale, Connor Grant, Roman Martinez, Carter Slater, Lillyan Hansen and Caison Mickelson.
The Rams fared better in the freestyle portion of the tournament.
Raegan Dickerson pinned her opponent in both rounds to take home the gold in 8U Girls 46.
In the 8U GIrls 74, Havana Martinez came back from losing in the first round to pin her opponent in the final two rounds to take first place.
Abraham pinned his way to first in the 8U 43-45.
Anthony Mcillwaine had no other entries in the 10U 120 division to earn him the gold by default.
Cayden Dickerson swept his way through the 10U 53 bracket gaining his second gold medal of the day to become the only double-bracket champion.

Third place: Whiting, 8U Girls 50-55; Harshman, 12U 82-86, Schmidt, 14U Girls 115-119.
Fourth place: Isabella Martinez, 14U 149-151.
Fifth place: Hadley Henton, 10U 84.
Sixth place: Hadley Henton, 10U 93-105; Layne, 12U 98-106.
Others that competed: Hansen, Roman Martinez, Grant, Slater.
The North Big Horn Rams will host a tournament this Saturday at Lovell High School in Johnny Winterholler Gymnasium.
