A team of Lovell Middle School’s top readers competed against six other schools in the region for top honors at the annual Challenge of the Books event held in Basin on December 16 at the Basin City Arts Center. The team placed third. Gwen Walker said she thought this was one of the best competitions yet, with close matches among the teams.
“They were so excited. They won their first two rounds and then had a couple of close rounds that they lost, putting them in third place,” said Walker.
