As interest is continuing here as to the Civil Air Patrol program, it may be pertinent to remind high school students that a course has been prepared for both boys and girls, aged 15 to 18 years, that will give them the necessary fundamentals. There is a possibility that the schools may include this course in their curriculum. Plane flights are included in this course, but not the actual piloting. These student members will be designated “Cadets.”
Persons concerned with photography or amateur radio are very welcome.
A liaison officer will be in Lovell the middle of March to organize a squadron, for which fifty members are needed in order to receive federal recognition. Those who are interested contact Fenton Woods, who has further information and the necessary forms. Other basin towns have organized active squadrons with very complete equipment. There seems no good reason why Lovell should not have a comparable group.
