The Cowley Progress
The Cowley Progress. Anderson & Williams, Owners and Publishers; Mr. L.L. Williams, Editor; and Miss Ola Dickson, City Editor. The policy of the Progress is “Be Square.” Its political affiliations are Republican, as always, but politics are a secondary matter with us.
Our primary purpose is to serve Cowley. This paper never purposes to be a party to any act of unfairness nor does it purpose to vilify. We took over the Progress because our interests lie in newspaper work. We enjoy it and purpose to give you a good paper that the community can and will be proud of.

Mr. and Mrs. Fay Cozzens have completed the moving of the stock of merchandise from the Massey Cash Grocery in Powell, which they purchased, and have set up the fixtures in their Byron building. They are handling a complete stock of groceries, meats, vegetables and fruits. They expect to build onto their store in the near future to give them more room for the new enterprise.

Wind Drinkers Overlook is located near the red cliffs area north of Horseshoe Bend. Rev. Floyd Schweiger traced past discussion with the Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service for an overlook of the wild horse range and a walkway through a portion of the Tillett national fossil area. It now appears local effort will be needed to complete the project.

A group of about 20 fifth-grade students were selected based on their integrity, trustworthiness, good citizenship, fairness, courage and respect for others to act as peer mediators during the school year at Lovell Elementary School. In their role as mediators, the students participate in special meetings where they help resolve disputes between students. They also keep a watchful eye for any bullying activity on campus.
