The Cowley Progress
The grade school furnished the community Christmas tree and an excellently prepared program appropriate for the occasion. Each grade furnished toys for the pupils of that grade. Santa distributed them and bags of peanuts and candy to all the other boys and girls. The teachers all worked harmoniously together, and what they did was highly appreciated. This was the first community Christmas tree had in Cowley in many years.

The Lovell Chronicle
Many Lovell parents and friends of men in the Wyoming National Guard unit, now stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington, were petitioning Senators Joseph C. O’Mahoney and Lester C. Hunt yesterday to intervene in the move to send the troops overseas. It is felt the young men, who enlisted for home guard duty, are too young and inexperienced for overseas service and should be kept in the United States.

Attention Lovell High School students and parents, three new programs begin at the start of the second semester. The three new programs, approved by the school board at the December meeting, are peer tutoring, an eight-period day on Friday and the advisor/advisee program.

The Lovell Chronicle
A group of Cub Scouts from the Lovell 2nd Ward Troop 3007 donated items to make children’s care packages for the North Big Horn Hospital Emergency Room in December. According to troop leader Ranee Ferbrache, the boys wanted to do a community based service project to serve children of their own ages and from their town to give a helping hand during the holiday season. The packets are for children who may be patients in the emergency room themselves or who may be in the emergency room with a family member. Each packet includes an activity book, crayons, pencil, notebook and stickers.
