The Midget baseball teams provided a real sensation at the club diamond Tuesday night when the Lions team scored a triple put-out against the VFW team. While not possessing any season record, the Lions made this play, which is seldom seen in the big leagues.
It came in the fifth inning with the VFW at bat and the bases loaded. Foster hit a line drive toward first, which was nailed by the Lion baseman Otis Harris. He touched the base for the second out and then threw to second to put out the player there and retired the team with the one triple play.

A rather spectacular crash on Shoshone Avenue in Lovell Tuesday fortunately resulted in no injuries when a runaway forklift hit and flipped a car parked at a residence. According to Lovell Police Dept. Sgt. Noe Garcia, Mountain Construction employee Ryan Lewis, 20, was coming down the Shoshone hill driving a forklift about 2:30 p.m. when he pumped the brakes and heard a “beeping noise.” Garcia said Lewis reported losing both steering and brakes, and the large machine veered to the right and struck the back of a parked car at the Gary and Brenda Emmett residence, rolling the car onto its top.
The forklift was stopped by a large tree on the Emmett property, with a piece of the equipment becoming embedded in the tree. Garcia said Lewis rode out the crash, attempting to control the device, and fortunately was not injured.
