The Cowley Progress
Surgical and medical men see wonderful possibilities in the successful transmission by wire of an X-ray negative, which has just been accomplished between New York and Chicago. The X-ray film, showing in detail the bone structure of a human hand, was sent by wire in just seven minutes, and when developed at the Chicago offices of the Victor X-ray Corporation it was a perfect reproduction of the original.
The great benefit to medical practice which this achievement foreshadows is the possibility of bringing the services of an X-ray specialist to a patient in a far-distant small town or village where such a specialist could not usually be found.

Lovell High School band, 81 members strong, will leave Lovell Friday at 7:30 a.m. for the tenth annual Dakota Days International Band Festival. This LHS band will be a participant in the festival that features more than 60 bands. To date 11 states are represented, with bands from Sweden, Norway and Canada giving the festival an international flavor.
William Tretheway, LHS band director, said an added attraction will be the Maynard Ferguson jazz band, “the world’s most exciting trumpet sound,” Tretheway said. “Ferguson will perform good jazz and contemporary music in concert Saturday night and will conduct clinics for all those who desire to take advantage of his instruction on Saturday afternoon.”
