In planning a home do not neglect to make provision for the built-in cabinet features which have become indispensable to the housewife. Many homes have absolutely no provisions for kitchen cabinets, disappearing ironing boards and other modern installations.

A highly convenient arrangement for every home, and one which is appreciated by every housewife, is a refrigerator recess which permits of its filling from the outside. This can be easily provided for in the plan with little or no additional expense.

City crews were engaged this past week installing more water meters at resident properties in the town. Approximately 60 percent of the meters have been installed and are in operation. Some comment has arisen concerning water rates under the meter system as compared to the flat rate scale used in the past. This flat rate was based upon the size of the dwelling, number of rooms, etc., and the area of lawn space if the lawn was watered from the city water system.

Rates under the meter system will apply for the actual amount of water used, regardless of type of use. The charge is 50¢ per thousand for the first 5,000 feet, 40¢ per thousand for the next 5,000, 30¢ per thousand for the next 5,000, and 20¢ per thousand for the next 35,000. All persons using in excess of 50,000 cubic feet will be charged at the rate of 15¢ per thousand over that figure.

The raging fire that completely destroyed the Cody Enterprise building and claimed the life of reporter Eric Olsen also left several Big Horn Basin newspapers temporarily without a printing press. The three-unit Goss press, jointly owned by Northwest Press, was completely destroyed and left member papers Lovell Chronicle, Powell Tribune, Greybull Standard and the Enterprise without their own printing facilities for two to three weeks until another press can be installed in Cody.

The fire apparently was a continuation of a fire that broke out late Sunday night in some outbuildings of the Montgomery Wards store, located next to the Enterprise. The fire evidently bridged the block wall between the two buildings via wooden beams and erupted during the noon hour Monday. It was reported by Janet Culver, an office worker in the Enterprise, when her phone line went dead.

Two photographers were in the basement darkroom. One of the photographers, Dewey Vanderhoff, who knew his way from the darkroom to the door, succeeded on his second try in escaping the blazing building, but Eric Olsen didn't make it.

They'll be dancing at Rocky Mountain High School next year after the Big Horn County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees approved a dance team at their regular board meeting Thursday night. Desiree Crosby and Shana Marchant appeared before the board last Thursday in Cowley to present a proposal for a dance team at RMHS. The proposal did not request any funds, except possible travel in the future. The two ladies said they would agree to be volunteer sponsors of the team.
