The Lovell Chronicle
Mr. and Mrs. Ole Olsen were surprised early yesterday morning to receive a phone call from their son Bob, who had just landed in New York from his mission in Czechoslovakia. The government of this central European nation recently asked all foreign missionaries to leave that country, so the LDS mission there was closed. Bob made the ocean passage on the Queen Elizabeth and will visit with relatives on his way home.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Zeller and children Gene and Sidney just returned from a month’s visit to Japan. While there they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Von Zeller and their children Keith and Joneen who live in Misawa. Von is stationed at Misawa with the United States Navy. En route home they spent four days in Hawaii, where they visited the Polynesian Culture Center and the Hawaiian Temple.

It’s not the job for just anyone. It doesn’t come with a big paycheck or a 401K plan. It can be pressure packed and requires a high level of concentration, and despite the party atmosphere, it’s all business for those in charge. But it was an experience Don Mack wouldn’t trade for anything and one he will forever cherish.
As this year’s basketball season at the University of Wyoming comes to a close, Don has spent his final assignment at the Arena Auditorium scorer’s table, operating the clock for the Wyoming Cowgirl games, a position he’s held for the past 27 years.
