The biggest traffic jam over the Christmas holidays won’t be on the nation’s highways, but on the telephone network, according to Bob Hoffman, local manager of Mountain Bell. Last year in Wyoming, over 122,000 long distance calls were placed on Christmas day, with only about 32 percent of those calls reaching their destination. More than 220 operators will be on duty Christmas day in the company’s long distance operator offices in Cheyenne, Casper, Rock Springs, Worland and Sheridan.
