Pioneer Day Rodeo set for Saturday

Cowgirls and cowboys throughout the Big Horn Basin are getting ready to saddle up for the annual Pioneer Day Rodeo in Cowley this weekend. 

Bareback, saddle bronc, ranch bronc, ladies’ breakaway, youth breakaway, calf roping, ladies’ barrels, youth barrels, peewee barrels, mutton busting, mixed roping, team roping, steer riding, junior bulls and bull riding are all on the schedule for the popular local rodeo slated for Saturday, July 20, starting at 2 p.m.

Rough stock will be provided by K Bar N Rodeo Company. 

The rodeo is hosted by the Cowley Riding Club. Spectators are welcome. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 7-12. Children six and under will be admitted for free. A Calcutta event will be held on Friday, July 19, at 8 p.m. at the Bull Pub in Cowley.
