Pirates and Rockies looking strong during Majors interleague tournament
Both Big Horn County Little League Majors squads are looking solid to start off the interleague tournament.
The Pirates have won seven out of their final eight games and look to make a push for the title down the final stretch.
Pool play matches have taken place in Powell on Monday and Tuesday, and the Pirates swept both teams from Powell, 10-0 and 11-2.
The squad had six hits in the first game Monday night from Camden Blain, Dax Mangus, Gage Angell, Brhysan Henton, Landen Peterson and Karter Miller and was led on the mound by Brock Butler, who pitched all four innings and struck out nine and walked none.
On Tuesday, the Pirates only needed four hits by Mangus, Butler, Peterson and Miller but received 10 walks to cruise to the victory over Powell.
For the Rockies, they also won both pool play games with a 7-5 victory over the Orioles on Monday and a 2-1 win over the Powell Rockies Tuesday.
Madden Cooley, Brooks Brost and Dane Wilson got the lone hits for the Rockies on Monday over the Orioles.
Wilson had an RBI triple against the Powell Rockies to walk off the victory on Tuesday as well.
Bradley Mickelson also connected for two timely hits that helped the Rockies move to 13-1 on the season.
Bracket play began on Wednesday night in Lovell and will continue throughout the rest of the week until a winner is crowned.
