Stolen car not so stolen
The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of November 20 to November 26:
November 20: 3:32 p.m.- A minor fender bender occurred on East Main St. and Nevada Ave. A 2002 red Saturn was backing out of a parking spot and rear ended a red Chevrolet.
10:40 p.m.- A clerk at Maverik Store reported that two males who didn’t have valid IDs tried to purchase alcohol. The clerk was advised not to sell alcohol to those without valid IDs.
10:57 p.m.- A married couple at Lovell Apartments on Montana Ave. was reported by neighbors to be in a verbal argument with screaming and yelling. The man was upset at how much time his wife spends on the phone. No criminal charges were pressed.
November 22: 7:21 a.m.- A vehicle was parked in the alleyway on Montana Ave., blocking access for emergency vehicles and making it difficult for neighbors to leave their driveways. The vehicle was towed.
November 23: 11:30 p.m.- A verbal argument was reported between two individuals at the Cattlemen Motel on Montana Ave. who were visiting Lovell for Thanksgiving. One individual decided to stay in town with family for the night to calm down.
November 26: 11:50 a.m.- A theft of a Dodge Journey was reported on Lincoln Ave. Contact was made, and it was discovered that the car belonged to a couple who had divorced. The car was granted to the ex-husband in the divorce proceedings. When he went to retrieve the car, the ex-wife reported it stolen. She was advised to contact an attorney.
Note: The calls listed above were received by the Lovell Police Department. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney
