October 21: 6:18 a.m. – A REDDI caller reported a white Dodge pickup traveling at a high rate of speed and swerving all over the road had entered Wyoming from Montana on U.S. 310, saying they had been following the vehicle since Laurel and were willing to sign a complaint. The vehicle did not enter Lovell.
11:33 a.m. – A caller reported a silver car filled with high school students speeding on Circle Drive en route to the high school. The caller said the car had “way too many kids” and “looked like a clown car.” An officer went to the school and worked with the school resource officer to review camera footage from the parking lot. The driver was cited for careless driving.
4:17 p.m. – An officer responded to a call regarding “suspicious activity” at Rose City West but found no one in the area.
October 22: 11:07 a.m. – A citizen reported a scam in which he was sent a $25,000 check and told to cash it. The bank advised him of the scam.
October 23: 6:21 p.m. – Police were summoned to a rec league youth football game to remove a parent/coach from the game following an altercation with another coach. The man was criminally trespassed from the recreation district building.
October 24: Travis Macoy Kuhl was arrested via a Probation and Parole investigation for bond revocation.
October 25: 3:44 p.m. – A caller reported that her brother’s cargo trailer that had been parked behind a Main Street building for more than a year had been moved overnight without permission. An investigation showed that the trailer had been moved a ways to provide access to a shed that needed to be moved.
8:58 p.m. – A caller reported that a driver on Montana Avenue stopped to yell at kids for driving radio-controlled cars on the street and appeared to be drunk. An officer responded, but the driver had already arrived at home.
October 26: 2:11 a.m. – A Volkswagen speeding through town was pulled over west of Lovell, and the officer reportedly could smell alcohol on the driver’s breath. Megan Christine Stebner of Greybull was arrested for DUI.
1:48 p.m. – A caller complained that a pickup partially blocked an alley off Idaho Avenue every evening and on weekends while parked. Contact was made with the pickup owner, who agreed to move the truck to create more room for vehicles using the alley.
3:27 p.m. – An employee at the Country Store on East Main reported that a customer walked out with a carton of cigarettes while their credit card was being processed. The charge was declined, but the customer had driven away. While the credit card machine revealed the customer’s name, it was not recognized by police or the clerk. The case is under investigation.
Note: The above calls were received by the Lovell Police Department. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
