Police Report: 1 a.m. visit by ex-girlfriend not welcome

The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of December 18 to December 24:
December 18: 1:25 p.m. – A theft of $126,000 from a trust fund was reported from a resident of the Bair Trailer Court. The fund was located in San Diego, and the reporting party was asked to bring in documentation so police can determine whether to help her. The case remains under investigation.
December 19: 1:33 p.m. – A minor crash was reported at the Maverik Country Store in Lovell. A 2004 Dodge Stratus backing out of a parking space struck a 2002 Toyota Camry. The driver of the Dodge reportedly didn’t see the Toyota enter the parking lot. Information was exchanged between the two drivers, and no citations were given.
December 20: 10:27 a.m. – A case of vandalism was reported at the Horseshoe Bend Motel in which a guest reportedly removed a fire extinguisher from a wall in the motel and sprayed the extinguisher inside the room and on the sidewalk. As the room was rented by a company on behalf of the employee alleged to have committed the act, the company agreed to pay for any repairs to the room.
11:03 a.m. - A 2003 Chrysler Town and Country was backing out of a parking spot on East Main near the stoplight and struck a 2013 Ford Taurus, causing damage to the driver’s side rear passenger door. The driver of the Chrysler believed the roadway was clear. Information was exchanged, and no citations were issued.
6:12 p.m. – A resident reported seeing fireworks through a motion-activated camera at Nevada and East Seventh. An officer checked the area and could find no fireworks in use.
10:06 p.m. – A resident of the Bair Trailer Court called to report loud music, then called again to say that the music had been turned down.
December 21: 3:41 p.m. – A minor crash was reported at the Red Apple parking lot involving a 1990 Chevrolet pickup and a 2016 Dodge pickup. No further details were available.
3:50 p.m. – A report came in via the animal control Facebook page that a dog on Park Avenue was “eating himself.” A responding officer reported seeing sores on the dog but said the dog owner provided documentation on medication the dog was receiving, noting that the dog was being cared for.
4:06 p.m. – A report was called in of a motorized go-cart driving on the skate park at Armory Park. An officer responded, and the go-cart driver said he was driving near the skate park but not on it. No damage was found, and the driver, a 19-year-old, was told to take the go-cart home because it was not street legal.
11:11 p.m. – A report was called in of an intoxicated female in the Red Apple parking lot. The woman had gone to the Red Apple to purchase a soft drink from a vending machine at the store and “couldn’t make it back home,” according to police, finding her leaning against the vending machine. An officer gave the woman a ride home.
11:57 p.m. – A reported fire at the Western Sugar factory turned out to be a propane torch in use on the grounds of the facility.
December 22: 5:41 p.m. - A resident at Rose City West reported that she was continually getting scam phone calls and that the callers would not leave her alone. When she said she was calling 911, the latest caller hung up.
9:02 p.m. – A resident at the Bair Trailer Court reported that a juvenile male had thrown an egg on his home as a joke. An officer made contact with the juvenile, and he promised to not do it again.
December 23: 1:01 a.m. – A caller reported that his ex-girlfriend had forced her way into his house on Hampshire Avenue. She had moved out three days earlier and had returned to collect personal belongings. The parties agreed to exchange items at a more reasonable hour.
7:08 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported on East Main, with the caller stating that an older male with a heavy beard and wearing a backpack was waving people down in the middle of the street. An officer responded, and the individual was no longer present.
December 24: 9:27 a.m. – A hit-and-run was reported at the Shadygrove Trailer Court. A Dodge charger parked at a residence was reported to have been struck by a Toyota Corolla, damaging the driver’s side door, then left the scene. The incident is under investigation.
