The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of December 16-18:
December 16: 12:34 p.m. – A caller wished to have a female trespassed from Frost Construction on East Second Street.
5:18 p.m. – A woman reported receiving text messages from an unknown number and believed it was her estranged husband. She wanted the incident to be documented.

2:02 p.m. – A caller reported a semi pulling a trailer with gravel spilling all over the road. An officer stopped the truck and discovered that the truck was actually hauling corn. The driver put spray foam in a crack to seal it and continued on his way.
3:45 p.m. – Police are investigating a series of incidents where malware is being used to get ATMs to spit out money, a practice known as jackpotting. With other banks being hit in the region in recent days, the Big Horn Federal bank in Lovell was recommended to check their drive-up ATM, and it was discovered that the Lovell branch had been hit over the weekend and a sizable amount of money had been stolen. The case remains under investigation.
December 18: 7:07 p.m. – An individual called to report that toys from the Share-a-Stocking and Toys for Tots programs had been stolen from her vehicle, and she wanted the police to know in case it happened to anyone else, though the case was being handled by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office.
Note: The above calls were received by the Lovell Police Department. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
