Police report: Bar fights keep officers busy last week
The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of May 19-25:
May 19: 9:35 p.m. – A resident called the police station saying that a vehicle was parked outside of their home and pulled away when they turned the lights on in the house, while another vehicle was parked in the alley behind their home revving its engine and pulled away when the house lights turned on. An officer responded and could not locate either vehicle in the area.
May 20: 8:10 a.m. – A caller reported that there was an abandoned vehicle on his property. Officers contacted the owner of the vehicle, and he arranged to have the vehicle removed later that evening.
10:17 a.m. – Officers responded to a call that two little kids were standing in the front seat of a truck on East Main Street and Oregon Avenue, but they were unable to locate the vehicle.
May 22: 1:46 a.m. – A call came in reporting that two females were fighting at a local bar. When officers arrived, one of the parties had left. After speaking with witnesses and watching surveillance footage, Reagan Davila, 22, was issued a citation for simple assault and battery.
8:07 a.m. – An individual came into the police station claiming she was being harassed on Facebook. The issue was documented and she was referred to CARES for a stalking order.
5:05 p.m. – A caller reported that their neighbor’s three dogs were barking on West Main Street. The officer responded and parked outside of the residence and didn’t observe any barking dogs.
May 23: 5:42 p.m. – Two adult males were reportedly fighting at a local bar. When officers arrived, one individual had left the scene, and the establishment chose to file a criminal trespass on the male. Contact was made with the individual at his home, and he was informed he was not allowed back into the bar.
6:11 p.m. – A gentleman called in to report that some kids keep jumping over his fence and doing damage to his property. When the officer arrived, there were no kids in the area, and the caller was instructed to call back if it happened again or to get some cameras for evidence.
May 24: 10:57 a.m. – A call came in reporting that a dog on Great Western Avenue had attempted to jump a fence while it was tied up on the property and was hanging from its chain. Officers contacted the owner of the dog, which was OK, and the owner said he would tie him up in a different location.
1:47 p.m. – A caller reported that a white cargo van with decals on the windows was parked at Armory Park with a little kid in the passenger seat repeatedly honking the horn, and the driver pushing him away. The van drove up the hill and out of town limits, and the information was given to the BHC Sheriff’s Department.
11:32 p.m. – Four separate calls were made inquiring about the fireworks going off at Lovell High School celebrating the boys track team state championship.
May 25: 8:59 a.m. – A female called the police department claiming that she was being harassed and followed by an adult male all over town for a couple of months. The caller parked in front of a local business and the individual pulled up and parked next to her. She left the scene and came back and called it in. She was referred to CARES about a stalking order. Officers contacted the male, and he denied following her or even knowing the woman.
10:08 a.m. – A male informed the LPD that his ex-wife was blowing up his phone with calls and texts while he was out of state and he did not want to block her because they have a child together. The claims were documented on file.
12:45 p.m. – A fender bender was reported on West Second Street when an individual backed into their neighbor’s vehicle. A verbal warning was given for improper backing.
6:29 p.m. – A caller complained that kids were riding their dirt bikes in the alley behind Lovell Drug. Officers contacted the riders and spoke with them about being more mindful of people living in the area. The bikes were licensed motorcycles, which can be ridden in alleys.
9:55 p.m. – Barking dogs were reported on Idaho Avenue. The responding officer parked at the location and never heard any dogs barking.
Note: The above calls were received by the Lovell Police Department. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
