5:55 p.m. – A woman on Big Horn Avenue called to ask if the animal control officer could pick up some kittens because a dog had killed the mother cat and she couldn’t take care of the kittens because she was leaving town in a few hours. She left the kittens in a box on her porch. The animal control officer responded and found someone willing to take the kittens.

6:08 p.m. – An officer made contact with a woman who was reportedly “stumbling around” and cut across the Main and Nevada intersection diagonally and almost got hit by a car. The woman said she did not see the cross walk and promised to pay better attention to stay safe in the future.

9:07 p.m. – A caller reported that a husky on East 8th Street went after her dog and was “still hanging around.” The dog was apprehended, and the owner, when collecting the dog from the animal control shelter, was giving a verbal warning for dog at large and having no town tags.

April 15: 2:18 p.m. – An officer investigated a report of a break-in at a home on Shoshone Avenue. The reporting party said all three of their doors were locked while they were gone and someone had entered the home through a window. Their dog was also missing. An officer found the dog in the backyard, and the RP found nothing missing or stolen. The case remains under investigation.

2:50 p.m. – A caller asked to speak to an officer about a neighbor’s aggressive dog, wanting to document the activity for future reference.

10:39 p.m. – A caller reported an older Ford truck driving with a flat tire on Shoshone Avenue. An officer responded and made sure the rim wasn’t damaging the street, then followed the driver home.

April 16: 9:40 a.m. – An officer received a report of medication stolen at Great Western Park, with the caller stating that a report needed to be filed in order to renew a prescription.

6:19 p.m. – Police investigated a report of a dog that had jumped a fence and was aggressively barking and following people on West Second Street. An officer made contact, and the owner said she was planning to give away the aggressive female dog once her puppies were weaned. She was advised to put the mama dog on a chain in the meantime.

April 17: 8:50 p.m. – An officer investigated a report of a neglected dog at the Bair Trailer Court on East Second and found that the dog had food and water but the tether was tangled up so the dog couldn’t reach the bowls. The owner was advised to pay attention and make sure the dog had access to the dishes.

April 18: 12:17 p.m. – An officer picked up a loose Corgi and Border Collie and took them to the shelter. The owner paid an apprehension fee and picked up the dogs.
