Police Report: Hit and run in hospital parking lot under investigation
The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of December 23 - 28:
December 23: 2:44 p.m. - A hit and run incident that took place in the North Big Horn Hospital parking lot is under investigation.
3:01 p.m. - The owner of a black cat brought into the police department has not claimed the animal. The animal is now available for adoption.
December 24: 1:38 p.m. - A police officer responded to a report of a dispute between two juveniles. Those involved chose not to file a complaint and no charges were filed.
3:27 p.m. - The owner of some persistently barking dogs on Idaho Avenue was given a verbal warning to control the dogs. They were also advised that the noise ordinance in Lovell runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Therefore, it is not permissible to allow dogs to bark non-stop any time of the day.
5:09 p.m. - A citation was issued for a hit and run accident that took place on Main Street in Lovell.
6:50 p.m. - Officers were asked by a concerned family member to check on another family member who had been drinking heavily. They could not locate the individual.
December 25: 1:08 p.m. - An investigation was opened into a suspicious incident reported to the Lovell Police Department. No other information is available at this time.
December 26: 1:56 p.m. - Officers investigated a complaint of a camera pointed toward a neighbor’s bedroom. They discovered that it was a barking deterrent device intended to keep a dog from excessive barking.
1:59 p.m. - Animal control investigated a complaint of two dogs that were being neglected that appeared to the reporting party to be malnourished. The officer found the dogs had both food and water. The owner explained that the dogs are of a working breed with a naturally slender build. The officer observed that the dogs did not have any ribs protruding and appeared to be in good health.
2:02 p.m. - Officers received a delayed report of a domestic incident that took place days before the report. They were unable to contact the parties involved in the incident.
December 27: 10:20 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of loud music but heard no loud music at the scene.
December 28: 6:20 p.m. - Lovell Police investigated a report of a suspicious individual hanging out near the tennis courts at Lovell High School. They were unable to locate the individual.
Note: The above calls were received by the Lovell Police Dept. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
