Police report: Juveniles confess to throwing at trailer home but no damage found
The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of February 25-March 2:
February 25: 10:36 a.m. – A woman called saying that she was the victim of a hit-and-run collision, but as her car was drivable, she was heading to Powell for class at Northwest College and would stop by the police department later. An officer later documented minor damage to the passenger side rear taillight and bumper on a green 2012 Toyota Camry.
1:30 p.m. – A woman reported that a credit account had been opened in her name against her wishes, and the company advised her to report the incident to police as part of an investigation.
5:01 p.m. – An anonymous caller reported almost getting hit by a white van turning onto Nevada Avenue while the caller was walking home from work.
11:14 p.m. – A 16-year-old female juvenile called and asked what would happen if she left home. She was informed that she would have to be brought back home unless she was legally emancipated by her parents.
February 26: 1:12 p.m. – A black medium build dog with a collar and a small brown chihuahua, also with a collar, were reported loose near The Market and then made their way south to the Mustang Café. The owner was contacted via information on dog tags and came to retrieve the dogs.
February 27: 4:53 p.m. – A flowerpot in front of the former Walker service station on Main Street was reportedly damaged by a vehicle. Police viewed video from a business across the street and determined that the driver was unaware of hitting the flowerpot. When contacted, the driver agreed to replace the pot.
February 28: 2:56 p.m. – A caller reported a white Ford Super Duty pickup unable to maintain a lane of travel and brake-checking other vehicles while heading toward Lovell from the west. An officer responded but was unable to locate the offending vehicle.
8:12 p.m. – A motorist nearly hit a stray dog between Frannie and Deaver, then picked up the animal and brought it to the police department. While police would not normally take in a dog from the county, a deputy had made contact with the motorist and was the responsible party, so the dog was taken to the animal control shelter.
March 1: 11:32 p.m. – A caller reported that their white Lab/great Pyrenees mix was missing on Great Western Avenue, then called back nine minutes later to report that the dog had returned home. An officer advised that lost dogs should always be reported so that police know to watch for the dog.
March 2: 7:23 p.m. – A caller reported that three teenage juveniles had thrown some unknown things at her trailer home in the Bair Trailer Court. An officer located the trio, and they confessed to the incident, but since no damage to the trailer home could be found, charges were not pressed.
10:08 p.m. – A caller reported that a garage door at Haskell Funeral Home was open and was never before seen open after dark. An officer checked the building and found no one, and the owner arrived and found nothing missing, then secured the building.
Note: The above calls were received by the Lovell Police Department. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
