Police report: Juveniles with a couch and spray paint cans asked to leave park

The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of March 31-April 6:

March 31: 5:53 p.m. – An officer made contact with juveniles at Armory Park after receiving a report of “juveniles with a couch and spray paint cans” at the park. The youths didn’t appear to be vandalizing anything but were asked to remove the couch.

April 1: 9:26 p.m. – Police agreed to place a dog in the animal control shelter after a report that the dog had killed a pig in the Deaver area.

April 3: 1:30 p.m. – A caller reported that a black Lab had jumped into her car when her door was open while parked on Big Horn Avenue. An officer responded and took the dog to the animal control shelter, and the Lab was later reconnected with its owner.

2:26 p.m. – An SUV was reportedly left in the parking lot of Rose City Lanes overnight. The owner was contacted and told to move the vehicle.

8:03 p.m. – A car was reportedly parked on Montana Avenue next to J&S Custom auto repair facing against traffic with a door open and no one around. An officer closed the door, and J&S pulled the car onto their property.

10:26 p.m. – An officer responded to a report of a woman pounding on the door of Family Dollar “for the past 15 minutes” with the store already having closed for the evening. An officer made contact, and the woman said she needed laundry soap and had tried to enter the store just three minutes after closing time.

April 4: 2:05 p.m. – An officer made contact with an individual who had reportedly left Minchow’s Service without paying after filling up. The person was asked to return and pay for the gas.

April 6: 10:21 p.m. – A woman called for her friend who asked her to call on behalf of her boyfriend who was making suicidal comments. The individual was located by pinging his cell phone and was admitted to the hospital to get help.

Arrest: Jesse Whiting Montanez, 48, was arrested on a Park County warrant for failure to pay.

Note: The above calls were received by the Lovell Police Department. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
