Police report: Loud garage party with fire shut down by police in Lovell
The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of October 6-12:
October 6: 10:05 a.m. – A caller reported a purple bicycle that had been sitting behind the chamber of commerce building on East Main for more than a month. The bike was still there as of Tuesday, Oct. 14.
11:43 a.m. – A call came in regarding a gas line that had been struck on East 8th Street. Montana-Dakota Utilities was notified.
October 7: 5:15 p.m. – A caller reported that a non-custodial parent was trying to get involved in his children’s lives on Idaho Avenue and was not welcome to do so.
October 9: 4:47 a.m. – An unknown caller reported that a caller from an 854 area code claimed that her grandmother had been shot in a vehicle in Israel.
9:16 p.m. – A person reporting to the police department for a required UA test came in intoxicated and was reported to the county attorney’s office.
October 10: 10:04 a.m. – A caller reported that when she declined a Facebook friend request her computer crashed, which led to a complicated scam in which a Microsoft Team member informed her that she had been scammed and that she should report the incident to the FTC. A fake FTC officer informed her that her identification had been stolen and used for drug trafficking, porn sites and money laundering in China, Columbia and Mexico. She was told to withdraw money and that an FTC agent would pick it up.
6:29 p.m. – Customers at the Conoco Country Store on East Main reported that a male driver of a black Ford with Maine plates was exhibiting drunk behavior and drinking vodka. The call was referred to the sheriff’s office and highway patrol as the car was heading out of town.
October 12: 12:34 a.m. – Neighbors reported a loud party in progress inside a garage on Sixth Street, reporting “loud music and fire with flames going everywhere.” An officer responded and told the people involved to put out the fire and turn off the music. They complied.
8:12 p.m. – A woman who reported a possible criminal entry at her home on Circle Drive called to report that the suspected individual was wandering around her property again. An officer responded, but the person could not be located.
Note: The above calls were received by the Lovell Police Department. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
