Police report: Man arrested for DUI after Sunday traffic stop

The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of March 3-9:

March 3: 12:30 p.m. – A caller reported seven dead birds similar to starlings found under a tree at Kansas Avenue and West 8th Street. Police spoke with Game and Fish and were told that the state trapper had been killing starlings around local feedlots.

6:39 p.m. – A caller said dogs in a camper on West Main had been barking all day long. An officer spoke to a neighbor, who said the owner was away but had purchased bark collars for the pets.

March 4: 6:33 p.m. – A caller complained of barking dogs on Idaho Avenue. An officer sat at the location for about 30 minutes but could hear no dogs barking.

March 5: 4:07 a.m. – A caller at the Bair trailer court on West Second reported seeing someone on her house camera shining a flashlight through her window. She went outside and did not find anybody. Extra patrol was initiated, and nothing was discovered.

4:44 p.m. – A caller reported a brown and white dog barking and acting aggressively toward his wife and kids on West Eighth Street. An officer responded but could not see a dog in that area.

6:18 p.m. – A third party reported a fender bender in the Family Dollar parking lot. An officer spoke to both drivers, and there was no damage to report.

6:33 p.m. – A caller complained of a delivery vehicle partially blocking the alley behind the Lovell Chronicle. An officer responded, and the vehicle was moved closer to the building.

March 6: 4:36 p.m. – Police were called about a domestic dispute between a mother and teenage son. No alcohol or weapons were involved. An officer spoke to the individuals to calm the situation.

March 7: 1:16 p.m. – An anonymous caller reported a domestic dispute at Mustang Laundry. An officer responded quickly, but by the time he responded the couple had left.

11:01 p.m. – A caller reported a loud house party on West 9th Street, but when an officer responded there was only one car in the driveway, no lights on at the residence, no movement and no sign of anybody.

March 9: 4:05 p.m. – A caller reported a small blue or grey Honda unable to maintain a lane of travel and varying speed. Tyler Long, 31, of Lovell was arrested for DUI, open container and expired registration.

6:43 p.m. – A caller reported kids “acting up” at Armory Park, messing with the swing set and looping the chain up and over the top bar. An officer responded, met with three juveniles and told them to fix the equipment. They complied, apologized and went home.

Note: The above calls were received by the Lovell Police Department. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
