Police report: Man arrested on warrant after eluding police

The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of May 25-31:

May 25: 3:46 a.m. – An officer responded to a report of a domestic dispute at Bair’s Trailer Court. The couple had separated by the time an officer arrived, and an investigation found that nothing physical had taken place.

11:08 a.m. – An officer helped a citizen by jump starting a vehicle.

May 26: 4:18 p.m. – A REDDI report called in turned out to be an elderly male with medical issues. An officer made contact with the man at his home after erratic driving was reported regarding the man traveling between Byron and Lovell.

7:59 p.m. – An officer investigated a complaint of kids throwing rocks at a dog kennel at Bair’s Trailer Court. The officer spoke to the neighbor’s kids, who said they didn’t throw rocks, but the dogs barked at them when they went outside. Cameras in the area will monitor the yard.

8:53 p.m. – A report of attempted criminal entry regarding a drunk man attempting to break into a home on West Second Street turned out to be the man being confused and trying to get into the wrong trailer home. An officer made contact and the man was identified as being in violation of bond conditions through Big Horn County. He was arrested later in the week after evading police for a few days.

May 27: 8:24 p.m. – An officer assisted sheriff’s deputies with a domestic violence arrest in Frannie.

May 28: 12:37 a.m. – A Lovell resident called 911 because she feared a friend in Texas was in danger and requested a welfare check. Her mother helped calm her down, and police provided information on contacting the appropriate authorities in Texas.

11:54 a.m. – After a report of a black SUV with California plates and a “smashed up” front end speeding through Byron at around 65 mph, an officer pulled the vehicle over in Lovell and issued a verbal warning for speeding.

12:58 p.m. – A man reported that his ex-girlfriend was constantly contacting him via a fake Facebook page. He did say his ex does not know where he currently lives and that she lives “back east.”

3:39 p.m. – A neighbor reported a possible break-in at the Lovell Apartments. An officer responded and found that the tenant was away and had asked a friend to take care of the dog.

9:03 p.m. – A call regarding a pickup truck with kids in the back driving recklessly at the Lovell Rodeo Grounds was referred to the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office.

May 29: 6:58 p.m. – A caller reported five dogs on Park Avenue that “look like they are skin and bone.” An officer responded and found some of the dogs looking healthy and the others not. The animal control officer was called and worked with the owner to see that the dogs would receive proper veterinary care.

May 30: 1:40 a.m. –  A party with suspected underage drinking was reported on East Sixth Street. An officer responded and found that everyone at the residence was a member of the household.

3:44 a.m. – A caller reported that someone was in her yard in Bair’s Trailer Court and jumped over the fence when her husband went outside. An officer was unable to locate the fence jumper.

May 31: 12:235 a.m. – After a report of someone knocking on a door on West Third Street, an officer responded and was unable to find anyone in the area.

1:13 a.m. – A caller reported an assault in which he was hit in the back of the head by an unknown person while standing in the vacant lot next to the Shoshone Bar. He refused an ambulance, and the case is under investigation.

1:31 a.m. – After a noise disturbance complaint regarding a backyard party with underage individuals and a fire on East Sixth Street, an officer contacted the homeowner and advised of the complaint. The homeowner agreed to shut down the party.

4:20 a.m. – A caller reported hearing noises outside a home at Bair’s Trailer Court. An officer responded and initiated a foot patrol but was unable to see anyone.

12:05 p.m. – The individual wanted in the Bair’s Trailer Court area for several days on a county warrant was seen downtown and approached by officers. Sean Gregory Phillips was arrested on a warrant for a bond violation.

1:49 p.m. – A report of a stolen garbage can on Big Horn Avenue turned out to be neighbors borrowing the receptacle while cleaning up a property. The missing item was returned.

10:55 p.m. – An officer helped start a car at North Big Horn Hospital.

Note: The above calls were received by the Lovell Police Department. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
