Police Report Muskrat evades trap at Town Hall

The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of January 22 to January 28:
January 22: 4:23 p.m.- A Town of Lovell employee reported a muskrat out near Town Hall. Game and fish were called, and they set up a trap. The muskrat was not caught.
7:20 p.m.- A domestic dispute occurred on Carmon Avenue. A child called 911 and screaming was heard in the background before the phone hung up.
January 23: 6:37 p.m.-A man at Mustang Laundry on Montana Avenue called the owner of the laundromat with the number listed on the machines, yelling because the man said the machine stole his money. Officers assisted. The man was able to finish his laundry and got his money refunded.
January 25: 11:58 p.m.- A women at Rose City West Apartments voluntarily relinquished a cat that had been very sick. The cat was taken and put down due to being sick for so long.
January 26: 2:06 p.m.- A stray injured orange and white cat was reported at Bair’s Trailer Court. Animal Control set up traps, but the cat died in the night.
7:12 p.m.-Two dogs were loose and growling at a truck that was at East 2nd St. The reporting party yelled at the dogs to go home. Officers were unable to locate the dogs.
January 28: 3:50 p.m.- A traffic complaint was called in of a Maroon Dodge pickup that had been speeding through Cowley and continued speeding into Lovell. The owner of the car was contacted. The owner admitted he was driving too fast, and admitted he should probably slow down.
5:22 p.m.- A reporting party on Montana Ave. and East 2nd St. reported that people were shining laser lights in her window. A local Airbnb was investigated, but no one was staying there. The caller thought the lights may have been from local kids, but nothing was found.

Note: The calls listed above were received by the Lovell Police Department.  Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
