Police report: Police investigate Sunday hit and run
The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of November 19-24:
November 19: 11:41 a.m. – A loose dog with a white belly, white feet, black body, medium build and no collar was reported “walking in circles” on Idaho Avenue. The animal was impounded.
11:36 p.m. – A report was called in regarding dogs on Idaho Avenue that have been barking for hours. An officer responded and discovered the dogs were barking at a different location and made contact with the resident, who was asked to be mindful of the barking dogs.
November 20: 4:59 p.m. – A complaint was called in regarding two dogs at Second and Kansas that “keep jumping out of their yard” – a “poodle looking dog” and a black mix. The owner was told to keep the dogs in the yard and to get a current town dog tag.
11:20 p.m. – A complaining party reported a truck with a loud muffler disturbing residents of Rose City West. An officer responded, but the truck had been parked and the engine turned off.
November 21: 9:49 a.m. – A large, brown pit bull with a red collar was reported running loose near the Travelodge on East Main. The dog was apprehended and taken to the animal shelter. The dog was released to its owner at the shelter.
November 23: A caller reported two suspicious vehicles parked to the east of the caller’s house on East Second Street, one with no lights on and the other with LED lights. An officer responded and found the driver of one vehicle attempting to charge the other vehicle’s battery with jumper cables.
November 24: 11:25 a.m. -- A hit and run crash was reported on Jersey Avenue. A truck backing out at the 4 Corners Bar struck a vehicle with the rear of the truck, then left the scene. The incident is under investigation.
