Police Report: Raccoon caught on camera stealing cat food

The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of June 3 - 9:

June 3: A resident reported a strange man on her property, walking around the residence and peering into windows. Police responded multiple times over several days but so far have been unable to locate the individual.

A woman reported that she was being harassed with multiple text and phone messages. She was referred to the CARES organization for help.

Officers received a report of a scam where an individual gave out personal information thinking she was speaking to someone from Amazon and later found out her bank account had been completely drained of cash.

June 4: A person who bounced a check at a local business tried to return the merchandise for a cash refund. After police intervened, the individual gave money to the business to cover the bad check.

June 5: A resident reported receiving a call from someone claiming she had won the Publisher’s Clearing House contest, asking her to send a gift card in order to receive her prize. According to the Publisher’s Clearing House website, the company does not call winners or ask for payment of any kind.

A male victim reported physical injuries, including a broken jaw, following an assault by another male. The matter is under investigation.

June 8: An individual reported being harassed by two females. He was told to block the calls.

A raccoon was recorded on a security camera stealing cat food from a resident’s garage. The resident was referred to the Wyoming Game and Fish Dept. for assistance.

June 9: A pet owner called officers for assistance with a dog that had a fishhook stuck in his mouth. The person was referred to a local veterinarian for assistance.

Note: The above calls were received by the Lovell Police Dept. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
