Police report: Slow driving sister leads to slapping incident

The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of February 10-16:

February 10: 2:01 p.m. – A caller reported being threatened over the phone by a family member and was worried that she might be confronted in Colorado during an appointment. She was advised to alert the place of her appointment that she needed security.

February 11: 10:36 a.m. – A domestic complaint of abuse and harassment is an ongoing civil dispute between parties.

February 12: 12:06 p.m. – A report was called in of a vehicle parked up on the sidewalk at Carquest. The store was called, and a customer came out to back the vehicle up.

4:32 p.m. – A black lab got loose when a visiting nurse accidently let the dog out. The dog returned home later.

10:31 p.m. – A report of an intoxicated subject on Carmon Avenue who may be armed was unfounded. A responding officer said it was a case of “a paranoid father.”

February 13: 11:35 a.m. and 1:11 p.m. – A female black lab was twice reporting running loose on Montana Avenue. The owner later returned home to fix the issue.

7:14 p.m. – A report of a male subject on East Third Street with “something on his head” and “yelling and pointing to the sky” was investigated, but officers could not find such an individual.

February 14: 1:54 p.m. – A caller reported that her daughter had not returned home from school, but she was found to be at a friend’s house.

February 16: 10:47 a.m. – A caller reported a puppy outside “crying and freezing” on Jersey Avenue. An officer responded and did not find the dog outside but did see a doggy door for the pet’s use. The officer was to monitor the situation.

6:11 p.m. – Two sisters were driving on Main when one complained that the other wasn’t driving fast enough. The car pulled over, and one sister reportedly slapped the other across the face with an open hand. The slapped sister drove to the police department to report the incident but didn’t want to press charges. But she did fill out a statement in case it happened again.

Note: The above calls were received by the Lovell Police Department. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
