Police report: Woman arrested for bond violation

The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of August 17-23:

August 17: 3:35 a.m. – A welfare check request from a TikTok social media post turned out to be a scam.

5:19 a.m. – A man getting ready for work saw movement outside his front door on West Main Street and saw a male with a grey hoodie leaving his porch. He yelled at the individual, who said he was looking for his lighter and headed toward Maverik.

6:39 a.m. – An officer responded to a possible domestic dispute on East Eighth Street in which a female broke down a front door and threw her beer on the ground. The reported stated that there was “glass and beer everywhere.” When an officer arrived, the female had left the residence.

9:28 a.m. – An officer investigated a minor collision between two vehicles on Shoshone Avenue with no road blockage or injury.

9:46 a.m. – A caller reported a small group of children on Shoshone Avenue ages 2 to 4 wearing no shoes. An officer was unable to locate the children.

3:27 p.m. – An officer responded to a report of a women violating a no-contact order at a residence at Bair’s Trailer Court. Courtney Marie Smith, 32, was found to have alcohol in her system and was arrested for a bond violation.

10:39 p.m. – A caller requested a welfare check for an elderly man on East Third Street, with the caller stating that it was unusual for the man to leave his dog outside barking for a long period of time. An officer responded, made sure the man was OK and put the barker inside the house.

August 18: 12:20 p.m. – Officers responded to a complaint of a white dog with black spots in the middle of the street on Kansas Avenue chasing kids. An officer put the dog in its yard but was unable to reach the owner at the home.

7:09 p.m. – A resident flagged down an officer and complained of loud music coming from a parked vehicle with an open door. The officer found that a juvenile was playing the music while cleaning the vehicle. The juvenile was advised to turn the music down.

August 19: 7:40 a.m. – A caller reported dogs chasing kids on Kansas Avenue. The owner was at work, so officers put the dogs back in their yard and into a kennel.

8:32 a.m. – A caller reported that a grey Jeep had blocking their driveway on Idaho Avenue for the last five hours. Officers responded and made contact with the owner, who agreed to move the vehicle.

3:24 p.m. – A caller reported a man with a grey hoodie digging into a garbage receptacle at Maverik on Main Street. An officer spoke to the reporting party but was unable to spot the man in the hoodie.

5:57 p.m. – A caller reported a white Silverado blocking a driveway on Main Street. An officer made contact with the owner, who moved the vehicle.

August 20: 12:16 a.m. – An officer gave a ride home to an elderly woman who had earlier been taken to the hospital by ambulance but had no way to return home after being discharged.

6:22 p.m. – An officer responded to a report of a fight on Shoshone Avenue in which a male allegedly attacked his father, injuring the man. An officer spoked to the injured father, who said he had fallen against a trailer, causing injuries to his face.

9:08 p.m. – An officer responded to a report of a possible suicidal 16-year-old male. The officer made contact with the young man and his mother, who said she would be with him all night and that he would see his counselor in the morning.

August 21: 7:32 p.m. – A reporting party asked to speak to an officer at the police station regarding a family matter.

August 22: 12:04 a.m. – A caller reported that a speaker with loud music was placed against a window at the pastor’s residence adjacent to St. John’s Lutheran Church. There was some confusion due to the ongoing 911 outage in the area, during which the call was transferred between agencies and eventually reported as loud music in the area, not directed at a particular home. An officer responded to the location but did not initially contact the resident/pastor, not understanding the true nature of the call. No one could be seen at the location.

6:21 p.m. – Management at the Shoshone Bar and Grill requested that a criminal trespass order against an individual be lifted.

August 23: 11:39 a.m. – A caller who had returned home after being gone for several weeks reported a possible criminal entry at a vacant residence on Lincoln Avenue, noting that the garage door was damaged. The caller said someone had gone through possessions in the residence. The case is under investigation, and extra patrol was initiated.

7:04 p.m. – An officer responded to Horseshoe Bend to assist at the scene of a reported dispute between parties.
