Pre-holiday Turkey Trot a huge success
On Tuesday, Nov. 26, Lovell Elementary School held its much – anticipated Turkey Trot at the Lovell High School track. The event, centered around fun, fitness and fostering community, according to organizer Ashlee Burton, brought together students, families and staff for an afternoon of spirited running and celebration.
Kindergarten and first – grade students ran a half – mile course, while second through fifth graders took on a one – mile challenge. In each age group, the top boy and girl finishers earned a special prize: a frozen turkey and a 3D – printed turkey trophy. Second – and third – place winners were also awarded 3D – printed turkeys as keepsakes.
“Special thanks to The Market, Big Horn Dispatch and Pepsi for donating turkeys and water for the event and to Jodi Strom for her time and talents creating the 3D – printed turkey trophies,” Burton said.
The event proved to be a resounding success, Burton added, with participants and spectators alike enjoying the lively atmosphere.
“Lovell Elementary’s Turkey Trot was a heartwarming display of community spirit and an energetic way to kick off the holiday season,” Burton said.
