Prom Closet offering dresses on loan
With prom night just around the corner in both school districts, a group spearheaded by Amber May is offering gently used, formal dresses, shoes, jewelry, purses, wraps and shawls on loan, making it possible for every girl to enjoy dressing up for her special event without breaking the bank.[caption id="attachment_11059" align="alignright" width="300"] Rocky Mountain High School senior, Ashlei Carroll shows off some of the dresses that are now available for loan through the Prom Closet.

Instead, those needing a dress are invited to view the dresses by appointment.According to May, the closet currently has 75-80 gowns in the collection. The dresses are available to loan to high school girls from both Rocky Mountain and Lovell High Schools for use at formal events such as prom and homecoming. In previous years, the girls also had the option to purchase or trade for a dress. This year the prom closet will be working on a “borrow-only” basis, with the borrower making a down payment of $25 to borrow a dress. When the dress is returned with a dry cleaning receipt, the money will be returned to the borrower.“Due to a full school calendar, the Prom Closet is unable to display gowns for girls to look at and try on as in the past, but the gowns are still available for any high school girl from Lovell or Rocky schools to peruse by appointment only,” said May.Prom Closet is also accepting donations of semi-formal and formal dresses, jewelry, shoes, slips, etc. For more information, to make a donation or to make an appointment contact May at 307-272-8481.
