Rafael Silva Franco
Oct. 7, 1932 – Sept. 3, 2024
Rafael Silva Franco, 91, died September 3, 2024, at her daughter’s home in Laurel, Montana.
She was born in Fort Hancock, Texas, on October 7, 1932, to Florencio Silva and Juana Gaytan.
Rafael grew up in El Paso, Texas, and lived there until she met her husband, Hilario Franco, and they moved to Lovell. They had four children, Lyle, Mary, Eva and Yolanda. They later moved to Colorado Springs, where they raised their family.
She worked at the Fort Carson Army base for 10 years, until she retired.
They then moved back to Wyoming, living in various parts, and eventually ended up in Byron, where she lived until her husband passed away in 1995.
Rafael moved to Lovell and lived there for several years before moving to Billings to spend the remaining years with family.
She experienced heartache and lots of joys during her 91 years of life, but would say that overall she was very happy. She loved all her family. Her wish was that they go forward and have happy, healthy, bright futures.
Until we meet again.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, Sept. 10, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
