Riverside honors outstanding athletic achievements

Riverside High School honored its outstanding athletes of the year during an awards banquet held May 20.  Some of the awards were based on a point system, some were chosen by coaches and some were voted on by teammates.

Here are the award winners, courtesy of RHS athletic director and head volleyball coach Cindi Smith.

Male Athlete of the Year — Reece Whisenant 

Female Athlete of the Year — Vinaya VanderPloeg 

Sportsmanship Award — Paul Stone 

Senior Medallion Awards — Gold: Avery Clifford, Curtis Stroschein, Vinaya VanderPloeg, Reece Whisenant; Silver: Hyson Hill, Ryder Kozisek
