RMHS music students warm hearts through song

The RMHS Music Angel Tour returned in 2025 with visits to West Park Hospital, the Rocky Mountain Manor in Powell, the Mandie Asay home and New Horizons Care Center on Thursday.

Music teacher Gerry Burton led guitar and choir students on the annual tour, now in its seventh year, with Lorrie Brost accompanying.

“This tour is all about service, developing stronger relationships with our elders and keeping music as a part of a lifelong activity,” Burton said.

At each stop, the choir performed several songs before the guitar class led Christmas carols that brought residents and students together in song.

“Very deep emotional connections are shared, as smiles and happy tears are visible throughout the room,” Burton said, calling the experience a blessing for everyone involved. He added, “This is why I teach. I look forward to it every year.”
