The Rocky Mountain Middle School volleyball program got off to a busy start to the 2024 season this week with three matches in five days, all on the road.

Playing in Burlington Friday, the Lady Grizz dropped the A game 26-27, 25-11, 15-13, the B game 25-23, 27-25, 15-11 and the C contest 25-14, 25-19, 15-8.

After taking the road again to Thermopolis Saturday, the Lady Grizzlies dropped the A game 25-12, 25-21, 15-11, won the B game 23-15, 25-20, 15-10 and lost the C game 25-20, 25-19, 15-17.

Rocky Mountain traveled to Ten Sleep Tuesday and lost the A game 25-17, 27-25, 15-11 but won the C game 19-25, 25-22, 15-10. No B game was played.

“It was a great opening weekend of volleyball,” head coach Lacey Bassett said. “We have things that we need to work on, but you have to start somewhere, and I hope we only go up from here.

“One thing I hope the A team walks away with this season is for each girl to be a more confident player and to take charge of her area on the court. The B team is bringing the energy and is a fun group to watch. The C team is working well together and showed improvement over the weekend, bringing in a win on Tuesday night.

“All these girls are working hard, and I am excited for the season ahead.”

After last week’s busy schedule, the Lady Grizzlies have just one match this weekend, a contest Friday at 4:15 p.m. in Greybull.
