RMMS track athletes have strongest meet of the season in Lovell

The Rocky Mountain Middle School track team traveled to Lovell on Friday. Both the boys and girls did extremely well. 

“We had a big day as a team, by far our most productive track meet of the season, with three school records broken, seven Best of the Best qualifying marks met and 76 total personal records broken,” head coach Josh Sponsel said.

School records: Tianna Christiansen – 7th girls pole vault – 8-6, Christiansen – 7th girls 100 hurdles – 17.56, Josie Loyning, Kate Crosby, Raelyn Reculusa, Kielley Brimhall – 7th girls 4x100 relay – 57.46.

New qualifiers: Brimhall – 7th girls triple jump, Taylor Grandalen – 8th girls high jump, Will Simmons – 7th boys high jump, triple jump, Dally Malson – 8th boys discus, shot put, 200 hurdles.

 

RMMS Lady Grizz

6th grade girls

Loyning placed fifth in the 200 hurdles in 34.36 and fifth in the 200 in 31.40.

Paizlee Fisher placed fourth in the 400 in 1:16.29 and third in the 800 in 3:05.68. She also placed third in discus with a throw of 42-1.

7th grade girls

Brimhall placed 10th in the 100 in 15.57 and second in the triple jump with a mark of 28-8. 

Crosby placed third in the 200 in 31.44 and added a sixth-place finish in the 200 hurdles in 36.26. Aliyah Lesher placed sixth in the 400 in 1:17.51.

Christiansen broke the school record in the 100 hurdles, winning the event in 17.56. She also placed third in the 200 hurdles in 34.26 and set another school record in the pole vault, clearing 8-6 to place second.

Presli Moss placed second in the 100 hurdles in 18.31 and fourth in the 200 hurdles in 34.83. She also placed fifth in the long jump with a mark of 13-3.

Reculusa placed sixth in the long jump with a jump of 12-9.

The 4x100 relay team of Brimhall, Crosby, Loyning and Reculusa placed first in 57.46, setting a new school record.

8th grade girls

Grandalen placed fourth in the 800 in 2:52.85 and won the high jump with a height of 4-7.

The eighth-grade girls medley relay team placed second in 2:34.25. Elle Ganoung placed third in shot put with a throw of 23-11.5.

 

RMMS boys

6th grade boys

Kaiden Adey won the 400 in 1:06.83, placed second in the 800 in 2:41.64 and placed fourth in the 1,600 in 5:48.68.

Ryker James placed fourth in the high jump, clearing 3-10.

Gus Loyning placed fourth in the 400 in 1:10.43 and second in the long jump with a jump of 12-11.75. Bryden Beall placed second in shot put with a throw of 25-7.

7th grade boys

Eli Wallman placed sixth in the 100 in 14.30, sixth in the high jump with a clearance of 4-8, and fifth in the long jump with a jump of 13-8.

Will Simmons placed fourth in the 100 hurdles in 20.20, third in the 200 hurdles in 35.04, third in the high jump at 5-0 and second in the triple jump with a mark of 30-7.25.

Aiden Wallman placed fifth in the 100 hurdles in 20.99 and fourth in the 200 hurdles in 35.47. Maddox Ward placed sixth in the long jump with a jump of 13-2.5.

The 4x100 relay team placed second in 58.35.

8th grade boys

Brooks Brost placed third in the 100 in 13.15 and second in the high jump, clearing 5-2.

Malson placed fifth in the 200 in 26.98, fourth in discus with a throw of 100-9.5, and fourth in shot put with a throw of 35-4.5.

James Demers placed fourth in the 1,600 in 6:12.63. Tyler Crosby placed third in the pole vault, clearing 8-0. Derek Hedges placed fifth in shot put with a throw of 34-9.

RMMS will travel to Thermopolis on Saturday for the conference meet. Athletes who have met qualifying marks will continue their season at the Best of the Best meet Tuesday in Lander.
