Road work continues at Ok-A-Beh

Road work continues in the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area this week.
During the week of June 24, crews will be milling and patching the Ok-A-Beh Road and Highway 313 in the north district of the park.
There will be single lane closures during daytime hours while work is being conducted. The roadway will be open overnight with traffic delineation through the active worksites due to narrowing of lanes and staged construction equipment.
Guardrail will be removed and installed along highway 313 and on the Afterbay Road. Throughout the summer, contractors will work Monday through Friday.  The work times may be varied, but most activity will be conducted between the hours of 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Some parking areas may be temporarily closed to allow contractors the ability to finish their work safely and efficiently. Closures will be announced ahead of time.
At this time, all roadwork operations will be stopped on July 3 at 6 p.m. and will not be resumed until after the holiday weekend.
Schedules and locations of work are subject to change based on weather. Visitors are encouraged to check park social media accounts for the latest updates.
