Rocky Mountain ‘Hollywood’ Homecoming continues
Rocky Mountain Middle/High School is continuing Homecoming 2026 this week with the theme “Hollywood.”
Already completed were “Meme Monday,” Tuesday’s “BBQ Dad vs. Soccer Mom” dress-up day, the Buff Puff boys volleyball game Tuesday night, Class Color Day on Wednesday and the always popular Homecoming Olympics Wednesday afternoon.
With no school Friday, Thursday is Brown and Gold Day and is packed full of homecoming events, student council advisor Tori Kidgell said.
“We have a full day of activities,” she said. “This year we are moving our Homecoming parade to Thursday. Lineup begins behind the high school at 8:15 a.m. The parade departs at 8:30 a.m., traveling north on South Second Street East toward Main Street before concluding at the elementary school. Community members are invited to attend. The High School Talent Show will take place after the parade.”
Evening activities kick off with the annual walking taco dinner, sponsored by the junior class from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and served on the home side of the football field near the bleachers. A meal for $8 includes a dessert and drink.
The Powder Puff football game for girls will be held at 6 p.m. with teams coached by the senior football players.
“Coach C (Tobee Christiansen) puts his football knowledge to work and officiates that game for us,” Kidgell said.
The annual pep rally starts at 7 p.m. and will feature games, cheers, team introductions and the crowning of the homecoming royalty, Kidgell said. The bonfire that can be seen from space will follow the pep rally with cocoa and donuts provided by the Grizzly Booster Club.
There is no school on Friday, but the cross country team will compete at the 2A West Conference meet in Burlington at 11 a.m., and the volleyball team will host Thermopolis with the freshman match at 1 p.m., junior varsity at 2 p.m. and varsity at 3.
The Grizzlies will host Saratoga Friday at 6 p.m. for the homecoming football game with royalty introduced at halftime.
Saturday, the Grizzly netters will travel to Lovell with matches starting at 11 a.m.
The homecoming dance will take place Saturday at the Cowley Community Center from 8:30 to 11 p.m., sponsored by the sophomore class. Prices are $7 for a single person and $10 for a couple.
