Rocky Mountain groups receive honors at Music Performance Assessments
Though he said he didn’t have individual results, Rocky Mountain High School Music Director Gerry Burton said his students did very well at the recent Music Performance Assessments held April 15-16 at Northwest College in Powell.
“I don’t have the individual results anymore but know that we had 29 entries: 20 superior, 8 excellent and 1 good,” Burton said.
The band scored excellent across the board, and the choir received two superior scores and one excellent score, Burton said. The Modern Band received two superior scores and one excellent score.
“It was a great experience, and we are so thankful to NWC for continuing to host this large event,” Burton said. “The Modern Band Club consisting of Rocky and Lovell students will be performing at the Cowley City Park on Thursday, May 23, from 6-8 p.m., and our concerts have been switched. Choirs will sing on May 6 in the commons, and the bands will perform on May 13 in the gym.”
