Rocky Mountain JV girls take two tough losses
The Rocky Mountain junior varsity girls faced two tough 3A teams this weekend, the Lovell Bulldogs and the Powell Panthers.
Their first game was Thursday night against the Powell Panthers. The Lady Grizz lost 37–12, with four girls scoring points. The top scorer was Sawyer Bassett, who put up 6 points. Brooklyn Larsen, Charlee Welling and Avery Thomas each chipped in 2 points.
After that first tough loss, the Lady Grizz had to face the Lovell Bulldogs the very next day on Friday. Rocky Mountain junior varsity lost again, with Lovell scoring 53 points and the Lady Grizz finishing with 18.
The top scorer for the Lady Grizz in the Lovell game was Welling with 7 points. Kennedy Brimhall followed with 4 points. Larsen, Bassett and Annie Crosby each scored 2 points, and Thomas added 1 point to help the team.
Assistant coach Stacey Haslem said, “It’s been a challenging stretch, but our effort is there. We will continue to work hard. With that we will keep getting better.”
